A 58-year-old man has been apprehended in the Khakhreeru police jurisdiction of Fatehpur district on charges of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl. The police confirmed this development on Sunday.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Bachhalal Prasad, the suspect, Prahlad Singh Patel, who operates a tea stall, was taken into custody on Saturday evening following allegations that he assaulted the young girl on Friday.
A local resident filed a complaint on Saturday, stating that his daughter was playing outside their home when Patel lured her to his residence under the pretext of offering her biscuits, where the alleged assault took place.
The SHO further explained that the family became aware of the incident early Saturday morning when the child experienced severe bleeding, prompting them to report the matter to the police. The girl has since been admitted to a government hospital for medical examination, and fortunately, she is currently out of danger. The accused will be presented in court as per legal procedures.
